Real Madrid is a soccer machine, but it is very interesting to understand how they are the winning formula they have become. Part of the credit for the victorious performance of the team definitely goes to the coach. The coach is an integral part of the team. Real was the founding member of FIFA, as well as most of the leading football clubs of Europe. Real Madrid CF, is the 20th century best club according to FIFA, was founded in the year 1902. It can boast of one of the most glorious and greatest history of European and Spanish Football. Initially the club was named as `Sociedad Madrid CF’ and it was conferred the title, Real, after King Alfonso X111 of Spain gave his official consent in the year 1920. From the time of its inception the football team has been winning laurels and giving spectacular performance and it has been consistently proving itself as one of the best teams of Europe and Spain. Real Madrid’s success has been attributed to team spirit, fantasy football, majesty and the dedication of the coaches.
The triumphant win of the team in all the leagues was due to high commitment level of the coach as well as the players. Some of the famous coaches, who have given their valuable time in molding one of the best teams, are Alferdo di Stefano, Vincente Del Bosque, Jose Antonio Camacho, Mariano Garcia Remon and Rafeal Benitez Maudes. Recently Real Madrid has turned to the services of the famous Brazilian coach Vanderlei Luxembourgo so as to bring about some kind of discipline and stability within the players.
The first coach of Real Madrid was Arthur Johnson and under him they won the Spanish cup 5 times. One of the most successful and important coaches of the world of football, Rafeal Maudes, who has rendered his services to the Madrid team had joined the team as a player played for the team in the year 1974 and continued to play for the next 10 years. He had great passion for football and he had an analytical bend which indicated that he had all the coach like qualities. In 1996, Fabio Capello, an Italian trainer was appointed as the new head coach of Real Madrid who replaced ,Arsenio Iglesias , who had stepped in as a temporary coach in the place of Jorge who had quit suddenly. Fabio Capello did not continue for more than one season because he found it difficult to settle in Madrid and he was replaced by German coach, Jupp Heynckes, under whose valuable guidance they went on to win the coveted European cup. Then came a series of other coaches, Vincente del Bosque took over from john Toshack and prepared them to win their eight European cup, second Champions League title. In this game Madrid triumphed over Valencia with a 3-0 result. It was the last European cup of the 20th century.
So it can be said that behind every successful team there is a highly devoted coach. If a team performs or fails it is because of the coach. These experts mean business!
